Suzanne Dawson—State President
Suzanne Dawson holds degrees in both piano performance and piano pedagogy and has been working and teaching in New Mexico for 40 years. Dawson currently owns the B-Sharp Piano Studio here in Albuquerque and has recently published a series of piano works for children! For more information click here.
Elvira Guillen–T.A.P. Chairman
Elvira Guillen Piano Studio has been in business for over 25 years! Elvira also accompanies vocalists and instrumentalists; and plays for weddings and other events. Currently, she is an organist at St. John Vianney in Rio Rancho. She studied music at the University of Texas at El Paso, accompanied the New Mexico State University choir, and studied piano under Dr. Paul, George Robert, Dr. Ruth Meyer, and Falko Steinbach. Jody Nelson—Treasurer
Nelson is an MTNA Permanent Professional Certified Teacher of Piano with many years of teaching experience with students of all ages. Students participate in NMFMC Music Festival, and perform in two private piano recitals per year.
Pei Pei-Chu—NM Federation Festival Chair
Pei-Pei Chu holds a BA in Music from California State University, Sacramento. She has been a member of New Mexico Music Teachers Association since 1985, and the New Mexico Federation of Music Teachers since 1997. Her technique methods are dedicated to excellence in technique and musical self-expression.
